What do I get by paying?
Pro removes the three-document annotation limit. Free already includes unlimited PDF/EPUB reading, bookmarks, the three themes, Duo layouts and library discovery. You can try the full annotation tools on three documents before paying.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase for the listed Pro features.
Will there be paid extras?
Optional future features, such as OCR packs and cloud services, may be sold separately. Some cloud services may require a subscription or usage credits. These extras are not currently available or included in Pro.
Will I keep what I purchased?
Yes. Purchased Pro features remain unlocked even if pricing changes or optional extras are introduced.
When will I be asked to upgrade?
The upgrade is offered when you want to annotate a fourth document. Existing annotations remain accessible and exportable without upgrading. Deleting a document does not reset the three-document allowance.
Can I bring my own books and work documents?
Yes. Import PDFs and DRM-free EPUBs from Files or Open In. Opal Reader makes its own copy and preserves the original. Scanned PDFs support drawing and positioned notes; selecting text and read aloud require a text layer.
Does Pro include books or library access?
No. Pro is an annotation upgrade. Book downloads, borrowing, protected loans and catalog accounts depend on the provider’s availability, permissions and terms.
Do I need a cloud service?
No. You can read your local documents without a cloud service. Optional future cloud services are not currently available or included in Pro.
How do I restore Pro or get help?
Use Restore Purchases in the app with the Apple account that bought Pro. For import, annotation and purchase troubleshooting, visit the support page.
