A little help.
Back to reading.

Import a book or PDF

Use Files or Open In to import a PDF or DRM-free EPUB. Opal Reader creates a separate copy. If a file will not open, check that it downloads fully, opens in another reader and is not protected by unsupported DRM. Enter the document password when prompted for an encrypted PDF.

Highlights, notes and the free allowance

Select document text to highlight, underline or comment. PDFs also support drawing and positioned notes. The free allowance covers three documents, with multiple annotations allowed in each. Deleting a document does not restore a slot. The upgrade is offered when you want to annotate a fourth document. Existing annotations remain accessible and exportable without upgrading. A scanned PDF needs a text layer for word selection; use drawing or positioned notes otherwise.

Restore a Pro purchase

Use Restore Purchases in the app while signed in with the Apple account used for the original purchase. Check that the purchase completed and that the device can reach Apple. Your local price and purchase confirmation appear in Apple’s purchase sheet.

Payments and refunds

Apple processes the one-time Pro purchase. To review purchase history or request a refund, use Apple’s purchase support. Refund eligibility and decisions are handled by Apple.

Pricing and future extras

Free includes unlimited EPUB/PDF reading, bookmarks, adaptive layouts and annotation tools in up to 3 documents. Pro costs $14.99 USD one-time; local pricing may vary. Pro removes the annotation document limit and requires no subscription for its listed features. Purchasing is coming soon. Optional future OCR packs and cloud services are not currently available or included; some may be sold separately through subscriptions or usage credits. Purchased Pro features remain unlocked if pricing changes or extras are introduced.

Read aloud and catalogs

Read aloud needs text in the document and an available system voice. Scanned, textless PDFs require a separate text-recognition step. Online catalogs need network access; login, downloads and borrowing rules depend on the provider. Check your personal catalog’s server address and credentials if it cannot connect.
